2-PANEL REVERSIBLE ASSEMBLY INSTUCTIONS
(STANDARD ASSEMBLY)
1

Assemble frame using 1" selfthreading screws into extruded slots on head and sill.

IMPORTANT: Place bead of caulking at the full joint of the jambs and sill and turn screws tight.

NOTE: The weatherstripping on the jambs should face to the exterior side. Please insure that the jambs are installed on the correct side. The jamb weatherstripping channel notch that is the shortest, installs to the sill. Inspect to insure proper assembly.

2

Thoroughly clean sill area. Locate frame in opening. Make sure sill rests as solidly as possible on floor.
Allow space at both sides to plumb jambs. Aluminum jambs are handed, impossible to assemble inside to out, and universal to receive either left slide or right slide.

NOTE: The weatherstripping on the jambs should face to the exterior side.

Please be sure that the jambs are installed on the correct side. The jamb weatherstripping channel notch that is the shortest, installs to the sill. Inspect to insure proper assembly.

3

Secure sill with #10 wood screws provided. Shim to level if necessary. Caulk against water leakage under sill using flashing or caulking as required.

Caulk all installation holes in sill prior ro screw installation.

4

Fasten jambs with 1 1/2" wood screws provided. Shim tightly behind screws to plumb.

Caulk holes prior to installing screws.

2 Panel Units:
Install black PVC jamb wedge guide in outside frame channel at pre-drilled hole location nearest strike jamb lock fabrication, as shown.

HP UNIT ONLY FOR COASTAL APPLICATIONS
Two panel units: Drill a 5/32" hole to install an additional panel wedge guide. Locate approximately 3" from the base of frame.

5 Secure head with 1 1/2" wood screws provided.
6

PANELS ARE REVERSIBLE:

To reverse fixed panel, simply turn top to bottom.

Keep weathertripping facing exterior.

7

To reverse sliding panel, remove interlock and replace after rotating.

Sliding panels are assembled to latch on left side

(viewed from exterior)

8

Remove mortar, sand or dirt from frame track prior to panel installation.

Install styro-closure in fixed jamb (as shown).

Butt styro-closure against sill.

DO NOT CUT STYRO-CLOSURE

The remainder seals head after panel installation.

9

Install two (2) PVC spreader clips at top and bottom of fixed panel.

Snap into channel (use a mallet if necessary) at 1/3 points:

Make certain clip extension projects towards exterior, as shown in diagram.

(typical top/bottom)

10

Insert the top of the fixed panel into the inside channel of the head with the weatherstripping on the fixed interlock facing the exterior.

Fit the bottom of the fixed panel into the channel of the sill.

Push the fixed panel firmly into the jamb.

Caulk the fixed interlock at the bottom of the panel where it contacts the silll.
(As shown)

11

Remaining styro-closure to fit snugly against fixed interlock.

Press between fixed panel and frame (as shown)

12

HP UNIT ONLY

NOTE: For coastal applications

At the lock jamb end of the threshold, the gap between the threshold and the jamb must be plugged and sealed. A 1" long piece of 5/8" styro-closure will be suitable.

13

IMPORTANT: If closures appear too long, make certain fixed panel is well seated into jamb.

Break off weather-stripping fin of head and sill closures at JAMB SIDES ONLY.

NOTE: On 4-panel unit, DO NOT break off weather-stripping fin.

Seal at each end of the aluminum threshold:
A) At fixed panel interlock
B) At Lock jamb

14

Insert top of sliding panel (with nylon guide rollers) into outside channel of head with weather-stripping on interlock facing interior.

(Reverse interlock, if necessary, as shown in step 7.)

Swing panel into vertical position lacing rollers on sill track.

15

Close sliding panel to jamb and align by adjusting bottom rollers.

Slide panel full length of frame to check for scraping or binding at head of sill.

Adjust rollers to correct, if necessary.

16

Install bumper(s) into the non-locking jamb opposite of the sliding panel.

NOTE: Install two bumpers on 4 panel units.

17

HP UNIT ONLY

NOTE: For coastal applications

After panel assembly, install angle restrictor to sill, centering on HP interlock stile. The vertical leg of the angle restrictor fits into the slot at the base of the HP interlock stile.

Locate immediately adjacent to the interior edge of the slot, leaving just enough room, so as to not restrict panel movement. Attach angle to sill with #10 flat head screws.

18

HP UNIT ONLY

NOTE: For coastal applications

Secure fixed panel to frame by installing two (2) 3/16" large flange rivets through the sill flange into the fixed interlock. Repeat for head flange using a single large flange rivet centered over interlock.

NOTE: Sill ad head flange are to be drilled for a 3/16" large flange rivet. Use a #11 drill bit to create a hole size of 0.192-0.196. Caulk holes prior to rivet installation.

19

HP UNIT ONLY

Seal between sill riser leg and bottom rail of fixed panel and vertically up the jambs at the fixed panel for 2".
